"Welcome to Sheep Meadows
A Quiet Zone
This 15 acre lawn is named
for the sheep that grazed
here until 1934. The flock
was housed in a sheep fold,
which was subsequently
converted into Taveran
on the green. The lawn
was restored by city of
new york in 1981."

This is the official description of the sheep meadows. It a beautiful vast lawn, lush green in the summer and spring. Its a place to relax. If you want to visit the central park and do nothing, this is the place.
just go there relax, take a sunbath, listen to music (obviously using headphones), read a book
or do whatever you like.
It is located in the west side of the central park form 66th to 69th street.
It is closed in the winter and is nothing more than an snow field during the snow season.

A very nice view of Manhattan sky line. The sky scrapers merging into the skyline specially in the haze of the winter look amazing.
