Block House is one of the Military Fortification built in the Northern Part of the Central Park during the revolution wars. It is a small fort like structure located in the North-Eastern corner of the Park roughly at 109th street.
Nearby attractions include North Woods and Great Hill on its south and Harlem Meer towards its east.
It is the oldest standing structure in the park built before even the park itself. It has tall stone walls with small area inside. It originally had a wooden roof which served as platform for the rotating cannon
