The Mall is a 40 feet wide walkway, located in the Southren Part of the Central Park. Its Southren End is called literary Walk which is named so because of sculptures of prominent literary figures located there.The statues are of William Shakespeare (by John Quincy Adams Ward, dedicated in 1872), Fitz-Green Halleck (by James Wilson Alexander MacDonald, dedicated in 1877), Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns.


The mall spans from 61st to 72nd street and end at the Bethesda Terrace and Fountain.Nearby attractions include Sheep Meadows and Mineral Springs on its west and Balto, Dene and Rumsey Playfield towards its east.


On both sides of The Mall are rows of American Elms. These trees have the property to exapnd and have formed a cover over the Mall. It is lush green in summer and yellowish in fall, making the Mall look beautiful.


The Mall and hub of Socialization in Central Park, giving the Park true taste of the city to which it belongs. Its also favourite for skaters, skate boarders and tourists.
