Chess and Checkers House is a beautiful octagonal building located in the southren end of the park, in the eastren half. It is located at the level of 64th street. It is made of brick and the brick-red color gives it both beauty and attraciton. Although a small builidng but it is a big attraction for the chess lovers.



It was built in 1952 on a rock bed. The rock gives it the height and makes it visible from a distance. Surrouding the main building are 24 chess and checkers tables with benches.


Nearby attractions inlcude Wollman rink towards its south-east and the dairy towards its north-east.Carousel is towards its north-west and Heckscher Ballfields is towards its west.
